Travel Opportunities

4-H Canada arranges annual conferences for its members, providing them with excellent programs, chances to connect with peers from across the country, and an enjoyable time. 4-H PEI is allotted a certain number of spots at these conferences, which are given to members who complete the application process.

Members interested in applying for a travel award should read the information & instruction documents for each before doing so.

(please note - not all trips will be offered each 4-H Year)

At this time, we are asking any members who are interested in travelling to Member's Forum to send an email to Lesley Evison  pei4heasternregion@gmail.com on or before July 18th.   Depending on the interest level, we will determine the next steps in the process.  These may include submitting an application, essay, presentation, or interview.    Our plan is to select Member Forum Delegates in late July so they can get the early bird rate.

4-H Canada - International Exchange, Ireland

The 4-H International Rural Exchange to Ireland, a program for Canadian 4-H members, provides a unique opportunity to explore agriculture and culture in Ireland. This exchange typically involves a week-long trip to Ireland, including visits to Irish farms, travels around Dublin, fun activities, and learning about Irish history and agriculture.

  • Travel Date: May 13-20, 2026 (flights leave Canada on the 13th – arrive in Dublin on the 14th)

  • Member Eligibility: 17-20 (or older depending on the provincial age requirements) as of Jan. 1, 2026.

(Members must be committed to re-registering as a member in the fall – if not, they will not be eligible to attend)

  • Selection Process: 4-H PEI has been given 2 spots for this trip.  At this time, we are asking any members who are interested in travelling to send an email to Lesley Evison  pei4heasternregion@gmail.com on or before July 18th.  Depending on the interest level, we will determine the next steps in the process.  These may include submitting an application, essay, presentation, or interview.    Our plan is to select delegates in August.

  • Cost: For a full delegation of 30 members, each member will have a registration fee of $1750 CAD. If there are fewer than 25 members, the fee will be $1950 CAD. With 30 delegates, we get 3 free chaperones. Members and chaperones will also have to pay for their flights and members should also book their own travel insurance.

  • Chaperones: There will be 3 chaperones going with the group.  The chaperones should be very capable and comfortable with international travel and be able to handle travel delays or interruptions for the group. Chaperones have no registration cost, but will need to pay for their flight.  If you are interested in being a chaperone, please let Lesley know before July 18.
